What is a Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump (LRVP)?

How the LRVP System Works – In 5 Simple Steps:
1. Liquid Ring formation phase
An impeller spins inside an eccentric cylindrical filled with liquid. Due to the centrifugal force, the liquid forms a ring within the casing, and thus a rotating liquid ring is formed.
2. Suction Phase
Gas or vapor enters the pump as the space between impeller blades expands as they rotate past the suction port.
3. Compression Phase
As the blades rotate, the space between blades decreases and compresses the gas trapped.
4. Discharge Phase
The compressed gas and a small amount of sealing liquid are dispelled in this phase. It comes out through the discharge port.
5. Liquid Recovery - optional
Sealing liquid can be cooled and recirculated via a separator or recovery tank to minimize waste.
